Wherever Charles resides, he enjoys serving God.   In 2017 that was in Uganda where he worked with leaders of various churches as they were seeking to shepherd their members.  Charles helped serve refugees who were seeking a church community to replace the one they left behind.  He assisted church leaders discern where church planting was needed.  He offered help and a framework to begin to serve prisoners.

Charles brings his experience with moving between cultures and between ways of understanding to the mission field. He is skilled in computer programming and has worked in this field for many years in the USA.  He took his skills to the Gambia and later to India where he taught computer skills to students.   He worked with tribes and with youth in both church and Scouting programs, in multiple countries.

In addition, Charles has been a leader in an ecumenical prison ministry program in the USA for more than nine years.  Also, he is a graduate of Education for Ministry and has certified as a mentor for that program.

Charles believes that each community is unique and needs to discover what God has planned for them.  He also believes in sharing his own experience of what God has shown him along the way.  He has done this as he has served with each community to which God has called him.  In 2015 Charles accepted nomination and was elected to his sending church’s Bishop’s Committee (vestry) for three years.  One of those years, he served as Bishop’s Warden (senior warden) where he worked closely alongside members of the church community.  His intention in that role was to find ways to help the community discover God’s will for them and to help move the community forward to action.  Charles is grateful for the many ways God has called him to serve.
